ISEED is an interactive art installation that turns the unique vein pattern of a participant's hand into a dynamic animation of a growing tree. As the animation progresses, the branching geometry of the veins reflects the tree’s growth, symbolizing the interconnectedness of all life and highlighting our deep connection to nature.
ISEED features a sleek aluminum sculpture shaped like a tree, which houses a sophisticated hand-scanning sensor. A custom software system powers the interactive experience, projecting vibrant animations onto a flexible LED screen. Atop the sculpture, UFO-like solar lights cast a magical glow, enhancing the ethereal atmosphere of the installation.
The concept of ISEED delves into the intriguing connections between the human body's biometrics and the natural geometries present in our world. The intricate network of veins that circulate blood in our bodies mirrors the branches of trees, which play a vital role in absorbing CO2 and purifying the air. This branching pattern is also evident in the structure of lungs that facilitate breathing, as well as in river systems that distribute water across the planet. By intertwining these elements, ISEED emphasizes life’s shared geometries and offers participants an opportunity to positively impact the environment through reforestation efforts.
